Garba Celebrations

Posted by mrssshaw on Tuesday Oct 11, 2016 Under Uncategorized

We were very lucky to have Roshni and her mum come into class to show us their special clothes and tell us about their news. They had been celebrating the Navratri Festival by Garba dancing.  Navratri is the nine-day Navratri festival, held annually during the Hindu month of Ashvina (September–October).

We watched a clip of the dances where women use their sticks to dance in a circle. Their clothes were so beautiful and colourful. We saw the men dance too but thought the women looked so much more bright and vibrant!

Thank you to Roshni and her mum!
